Position: Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer
Industry: Commercial Painting
Location: Carrollton, TX (DFW Metroplex)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Travel: Local project and client visits required (50%+ field time) - NO OVERNIGHT TRAVEL


About the Opportunity

A growing commercial painting contractor in the Charlotte market is expanding and is seeking a strong Assistant Project Manager. This hire will step into an active backlog, support newly awarded work, and play a key role in client management and project delivery.

This role is ideal for someone who is polished, relationship-focused, and experienced managing large commercial projects in the paint sector.


What You’ll Do
  • Oversee new construction projects from award through closeout

  • Regularly meet with clients, visit active jobsites, and maintain strong customer relationships

  • Familiarity with Buzzbid Estimating Software
  • Lead negotiations on change orders and resolve A/B-level project issues

  • Collaborate with internal APMs/PMs, who handle much of the internal operational workload

  • Ensure project schedules, budget goals, and quality standards are met

  • Represent the company professionally with owners, GCs, and project partners


What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in commercial painting project management or other construction sector experience

  • Strong communicator with a customer-first mindset

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize field presence

  • Capable of owning relationship management more than pure back-office operations
