This position is for a full-time traveling assignment supporting large-scale construction projects such as: Heavy Commercial/Commercial Industrial, Advanced Technology, Data Center, Pharmaceutical, Industrial/manufacturing, Renewables, and Infrastructure projects. The first project will be on a Data Center in Southern Indiana

A DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Lead and manage on-site safety efforts on complex or large-scale projects, working closely with project superintendents, project managers, multiple subcontractors, and client reps.
  • Develop and ensure compliance with site specific safety plan.
  • Track and assess project safety metrics for recommended improvements.
  • Safety Inspections – perform regular safety inspections and review project team’s safety inspections. Recommend corrective actions and issue safety violations as necessary.
  • Orientations – Develop site specific safety orientation to be administered with global safety video. Manage all new worker orientations and recordkeeping.
  • Preconstruction meetings – Lead safety portion of preconstruction meetings with subcontractors. Review site specific safety requirements and discuss scope specific hazards and mitigation plans.
  • Subcontractor Coordination meetings - Attend and prepare relevant site-specific safety content for weekly subcontractor coordination meeting.
  • Perform site-wide safety standdowns, toolbox talks, and small group discussions and log meeting minutes and attendees.
  • Collect and manage required subcontractor safety documentation (safety plans, fall protection plans, Weekly TBTs, pre-tasks, training certificates, etc.)
  • Incident Investigations – Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure that all incidents are formally investigated and that subcontractors identify root cause, contributing factors, and corrective actions.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5-15 years of construction experience managing complex, large-scale projects such as mission-critical/data centers, heavy commercial Industrial, advanced manufacturing, etc.
  • Prior experience with a general contractor preferred.
  • BS in Occupational Health and Safety or a closely related field preferred.
  • CSP/CHST/STS or similar certification(s) preferred.
  • Completed OSHA 30-hour training, OSHA 500/510 certification a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with workers at all levels.
  • Ability to lead and influence others to prioritize safety.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify atypical hazards, communicate them effectively, and implement proactive corrective actions.
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in your state of residence.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other technology applicates used at the project level (Procore, Safety Management Apps, etc.)
  • Must be willing to travel and live within 10 miles of the job site for eleven (11) days on, three (3) days at home and repeat this schedule throughout the project cycle
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: standing or walking for long periods of time, occasionally on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs and ladders, and/or lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds
