Job description

Job Title: Assistant Project ManagerJob Description

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Project Manager/Project Engineer who is open to traveling as projects are located nationwide. The initial project will likely involve the construction of a wastewater/biogas renewable plant in Burley, Idaho. This $300 million project may require onsite presence for over a year.

Responsibilities
  • Support both the Superintendent and Senior Project Manager with tasks such as submittals, RFIs, coordinating with the construction manager on scheduling, and communication through meeting agendas.
  • Assist in running schedules, documentation, taking photos, and writing daily reports.
  • Record meeting minutes, budget and estimate costs, review invoices, and oversee the subcontractor and vendor delivery process.
  • Develop and maintain reports and logs for reporting project status.
  • Assist in creating change orders, budget updates, and cost tracking.
  • Assist in writing Methods of Procedure (MOPs) to ensure minimal impact on plant operations.
  • Track equipment delivery and log any missing or damaged equipment.
  • Adhere to safety programs, trainings, and policies, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Ensure subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel adhere to safety standards.
  • Record meeting minutes, generate meeting agendas, and track daily operations via field reports.
  • Perform daily updates to the project schedule and work with the PM to ensure the master schedule is up to date.
  • Understand contract terms and conditions for purchase orders and assist in vendor compliance.
  • Maintain logs and provide weekly updates on RFIs and submittals.
  • Assist with coordination and development of the final Commissioning Plan, including owner training, project closeout, and documentation.
  • Offer assistance to co-workers and perform tasks as necessary including maintenance of facilities and office supplies.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in construction and construction management.
  • Proficient in RFIs and reporting.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Experience with Procore or similar project management tools.
  • Preferably 3 years of experience, but open to candidates with 1-2 years.
  • Prefer industrial construction experience, but open to larger ground-up construction experience.
Work Environment

The work environment involves supporting onsite construction operations with project hours typically from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Although not planned, weekend or evening work may occasionally be necessary. The role requires familiarity with project scope, schedule, drawings, and specifications. A per diem stipend is negotiable to cover lodging, meals, and trips home.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burley, ID.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
