Job description

We are seeking a Preconstruction Services Coordinator / Estimator to join the onsite team in Shreveport, Louisiana. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career construction professional or recent graduate to gain broad exposure to estimating, project planning, subcontractor coordination, and field operations while building a long-term career with a stable, growing contractor.

What You'll Do as the Preconstruction Services Coordinator / Estimator:

  • Support commercial projects throughout the preconstruction process
  • Conduct pre-bid site visits and gather information needed to develop project scopes
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with cost estimates
  • Solicit pricing from subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers
  • Coordinate subcontractor walkthroughs and pre-bid meetings
  • Compare bids and identify scope gaps, exclusions, and pricing differences
  • Prepare proposals, bid packages, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and construction logistics
  • Mark up drawings and organize preconstruction information
  • Prepare submittals, product data, and material samples
  • Maintain organized project records, files, and bid documentation
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, field leaders, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Provide field support during project planning and construction when needed
  • Assist Project Managers with subcontract processing and material orders
  • Support RFIs, permits, change orders, and general project documentation
  • Help ensure a smooth handoff from preconstruction to field operations

Must-Haves as the Preconstruction Services Coordinator / Estimator:

  • Degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent commercial construction experience
  • Foundational understanding of commercial construction methods and sequencing
  • Ability to read construction plans and specifications
  • Construction takeoff experience through employment, internships, co-ops, or coursework
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Coachable, dependable, and eager to learn
  • Valid driver's license
