Job description

Freese and Nichols is seeking an Project Accountant in Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, or Houston, Texas, with experience in project accounting, primarily focused on contract review, project maintenance, revenue recognition, and project invoicing.

What You'll Do:

  • Set-up projects in the accounting system, reviewing and maintaining project-related documents, including contracts and amendments, revenue recognition, reviewing and approving timesheets, data analysis, and processing invoices that align with client and contract requirements.

  • Assist with training of Group Managers, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and other technical staff in project accounting processes.

  • Proactively review pre-developed monitoring analytical tools and skilled in building basic analytic tools to provide PMs, and GMs with data for gaps in target goals and for reporting purposes.

  • Conduct required analysis for assigned groups and projects to identify errors and to ensure accurate revenue recognition and WIP management.

  • Become technical expert for clients or client types that are complex and/or have specialized requirements as assigned.

  • Occasional travel between offices is required, as needed

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance role.

  • Familiarity with Accounting software.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, initiative, and attention to detail with the capability of working independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other related field

  • Accounting experience working in the AEC industry
