THE AVAILABILITY OF THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON SUFFICIENT FUNDING AND ENROLLMENT
TITLE: Program Coordinator(s) for MPS Before & After-School and Summer Programs (Gr. K-8)
A-S Program hours: Mon. through Fri. 1:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. (with additional hours/days noted below according to MPS school calendar); Additional hours may be required for before-school coverage, planning, days noted below, and as needed by the Program Manager of Community Programs.
Summer Program hours: varies between M-F, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Programs to run through the school year, including, open houses, program coordinator monthly meetings, professional development days, parent conference days, all other half days & delayed openings, winter and spring recesses, and summer.
Hours not to exceed 29 hours/week on average and are subject to change.
DATE OF OPENING: August 17, 2026
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Minimum of Bachelor's degree or greater strongly preferred
  2. Prior experience as out-of-school-time coordinator preferred
  3. Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, and attendance record
  4. Working knowledge of curriculum frameworks for grades K-8 or willingness to learn them
  5. Successful experience working collaboratively with others, preferably educators
  6. Successful experience working with K-8 students, including at-risk and struggling students.
  7. Experience supervising staff preferred
  8. Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications
  9. CPR/First Aid preferred.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Coordinate all aspects of the after-school & summer programs for the K-8 students, as required by the program manager/assistant manager, e.g., development of program curriculum, staff scheduling and evaluations, purchasing supplies and materials, and field trips, etc.
  2. Manage before and after-school & summer personnel, food services, & parent drop-off and pick-up
  3. Work with program partners and make transportation arrangements for field trips, if necessary
  4. Meet with the program manager &/or assistant program manager to discuss program/student issues
  5. Maintain communications with parents, program manager, assistant program manager, and staff, regarding program and/or students; excellent attendance required
  6. Keep required records, timesheets, and submit reports accurately and in a timely manner
  7. Hold planning/monthly site meetings and submit notes of each to the program manager. Workshops are scheduled for Tuesday, November 3rd. Attendance is required
  8. Perform other duties as required by the Program Manager or their designee

SALARY: $28-$38/hr.
