Job description
The Nursing and Health Studies department at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in Nursing.
The successful applicant will contribute to an academic unit which embraces a team-based approach and innovative teaching methods to develop students who can think critically while delivering high quality care.
This position will be responsible for enhancing UW-Green Bay's mission-driven inclusive teaching efforts and creating and maintaining an educational environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.
Key Job Responsibilities:Facilitate optimal learning through integration of technology and utilization of appropriate delivery methods.
Teach didactic, skills/simulation, and/or clinical courses.
Contribute to ongoing program development.
Implement inclusive instructional strategies to increase support for students from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds at UW-Green Bay.
Perform institutional and community service.
Develop a strong research program involving collaboration with students and/or faculty.
Teach lower- and upper-level courses (both online and in person) in nursing and/or one of the health professions programs.
Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank.
Advise and mentor students.

Compensation:Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Required Qualifications:- Earned doctorate in Nursing or closely related field from an accredited institution by the end of the first academic year. Candidates who have not completed their doctorate by the start date will be hired into a terminal appointment at the rank of Instructor with a rate determined at the time of hire. Upon degree conferral, the title will change to Assistant Professor. The contract will not be renewed if the degree is not conferred by the end of the terminal appointment.
- Must hold an unencumbered Wisconsin Nursing License or have the ability to obtain a Wisconsin Nursing License; Must have an unencumbered Wisconsin Nursing license at the time of employment

- Teaching experience, preferably in nursing
- Recent clinical nursing experience with preference given for experience in medical surgical nursing, maternity, pediatrics, critical care, or community health
The home campus of this positionis Green Bay and the successful candidate may occasionally be required to teach a course or work at the Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campus.
Position is an academic year, tenure-track appointment. Applicants must be considered for tenure and promotion in six years, although tenure decisions may be at any time. Promotion from Assistant to Associate Professor is simultaneous with tenure. Excellence in teaching, sustained scholarly activity, and institutional service required for retention and promotion. A pre-employment education check which includes, but is not limited to, the verification of academic credentials will be conducted on the finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). In compliance with the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act, the university does not discriminate on the basis of arrest or conviction record.In addition, if the final selected candidate has prior work history within the last 7 years with Universities of Wisconsin, a personnel file review check for employee misconduct will be completed.
