Description

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in the Division of Basic Sciences. We seek a laboratory scientist conducting outstanding research in any area of fundamental biology. We welcome applicants whose work will complement, extend, or bring new directions to the Division.

Fred Hutch provides terrific colleagues, a collegial atmosphere, and a wealth of resources to support the development and success of junior faculty. Students are drawn from the highly-regarded Molecular and Cellular Biology graduate program as well as other related departments and programs at the University of Washington. The Fred Hutch campus is located by Lake Union in Seattle, Washington, and is close to other non-profit research institutes and the University of Washington. Current faculty members in the Basic Sciences Division investigate diverse areas of molecular, computational, cellular, developmental, evolutionary, and structural biology, as well as metabolism, neuroscience, virology, and immunity. We use a broad range of experimental and computational approaches and model systems. Basic science research provides the foundation for understanding the causes of human disease and developing innovative strategies for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. We seek colleagueswho bring original ideas, different perspectives, and creative approaches to fundamental biological questions.The Division is committed to fostering an environment in which faculty, trainees, and staff can do their best work and contribute meaningfully to the scientific community.

Faculty are expected to perform their primary activities on-site at Fred Hutch.

Qualifications

For consideration, applicants must have a doctoral degree and a substantial record of scientific achievement, including predoctoral and postdoctoral research accomplishments.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $188,279 to $210,563 for faculty hired at the Assistant Professor level and from $210,413 to $245,241 for faculty hired at the Associate Professor level.

Pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Pay for Faculty positions is based on a variety of factors, including degree, specialty, clinical practice and experience. Faculty without credited time in rank will generally start at the entry rate for their relevant specialty and rank. This position is eligible for relocation assistance and sign‑on bonus.
