Regent University's School of Psychology and Counseling is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure-track Assistant / Associate Professor position. This position will be located at Regent University's Virginia Beach, VA campus (qualified candidates may be considered for remote work) beginning in July 2026. We seek someone who can teach graduate-level courses in general psychology, counseling, and counseling ministries. Successful candidates will be able to integrate Christian faith within the field of mental health in an ethical and competent manner while balancing teaching, research, and service. The position involves both on campus and online teaching. Candidates are expected to exhibit a strong commitment to excellence in teaching face-to-face and digital distance-based delivery modalities.

Work Location: Virginia Beach, VA (qualified candidates may be considered for remote work)

Qualifications:

  • An earned terminal degree from an accredited college or university appropriate for the specific discipline is required. 
  • Preferred qualifications include PhD, PsyD or EdD in psychology, counseling, or another related mental health field (doctoral candidates in the later stages of their doctoral degree completion may be considered for this position with the expectation that all doctoral degree requirements will be completed within the first year of employment).
  • Additional degree or training in divinity or theology is preferred (or prior experience with the integration of Christian worldview in mental health is a plus).
  • Prior college teaching experience preferred in addition to proficiency with online instructional technology.   

Expectations include 1) a dedication to Christ-centered teaching and learning; 2) a record of or potential for academic scholarship; 3) the ability to teach undergraduate-level courses; 4) facility with online instructional technology; and 5) a willingness to embrace the College and University Identity and Mission statements and subscribe to a statement of Christian faith.
