Tenure-Track Assistant Professor or Instructor in Cyber Operations

The Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences at The Citadel, located in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina, invites applications for a full-time, 9-month faculty position at the rank of Tenure-Track Assistant Professor or Instructor, with a start date of January 2026 or August 2026.

About The Citadel

The Citadel is a fully accredited, public, comprehensive, co-educational college serving approximately 2,300 undergraduate and 1,200 graduate, online, and evening undergraduate students. About the Department

The Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences includes 7 full-time and 7 adjunct faculty members. It offers:

Position Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching undergraduate courses in cyber operations and computer science
  • Teaching graduate courses in computer and information sciences or cybersecurity (Assistant Professor)
  • Typical teaching load: 12 contact hours/week (Assistant Professor), 15 hours/week (Instructor)
  • Student advising, scholarly activity, and service to the institution

The Citadel supports faculty development with internal funding for research, travel, and professional growth.

Qualifications

For Tenure-Track Assistant Professor

  • Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Cyber Operations, or closely related field (Required)
  • Strong aptitude for teaching in Cyber Operations (Required)

For Instructor

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Operations, or closely related field (Required)
