Job description

As a Human Resources Officer, you’ll have the rewarding opportunity to assist Sailors at various stages of their military careers, offering guidance, support, and mentorship. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Career Guidance & Counseling: Provide career advice to Sailors related to Navy occupations, promotions, employee rights, and benefits, ensuring they understand their opportunities for advancement.
  • Education & Training Coordination: Connect Sailors with job training and educational programs that will help them excel in their roles and prepare for future opportunities.
  • Personnel Interviews: Conduct interviews for personnel assignment recommendations, evaluating skills, experiences, and career goals to match Sailors with appropriate roles.
  • Support for Sailors and Their Families: Assist Sailors and their families with special problems, personal hardships, or life challenges, ensuring their well-being is prioritized.
  • Liaison with Personnel Command: Establish and maintain communication with the Navy Personnel Command to ensure smooth operations and accurate record-keeping for your personnel.
  • Career Information Program Management: Oversee the Career Information Program at your duty station, providing Sailors with information on career paths, promotions, and benefits.
  • Service Record Maintenance: Manage and maintain Enlisted Service Records, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Personnel Transfers & Separations: Assist with the personnel transfer process, separations, retirements, and assignments to new commands, ensuring smooth transitions for Sailors.
