The Clarence Mitchell, Jr. School of Engineering at Morgan State University invites applicants and nominations for a faculty position in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering.
The position is a joint appointment with the Center for Equitable Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Systems (CEAMLS) at tenure-track assistant professor level. Candidates with experiences in substantial research and teaching will be considered for associate professor appointment. The ISE Department offers an ABET accredited BS degree in Industrial Engineering, a Master of Engineering degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Industrial Engineering.
A commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate level is fundamental to this position and to the mission of the Morgan State University. Tenure-track candidates will be expected to establish an externally funded research program, to contribute to knowledge creation evinced through scholarly publications, and to engage in building the department's prominence through professional service. The department is particularly interested in candidates with background and interests in Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI) and at least one major aspect of industrial engineering including robotics, digital twins and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Applicants must have an earned doctorate degree (at the time of appointment) in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Candidates with teaching and research interests in the areas of industrial Engineering and ML/AI with interest in collaboration across the university are encouraged to apply.
A review of applicants will begin immediately and continue the search until the selection of the finalist in time for a planned start date in fall 2025.
The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin.
