Physical Medicine and RehabilitationPosition Title:Assistant Professor - Oncology RehabilitationJob Family Group: AcademicJob Description Summary:The Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Kansas Medical Center provides specialized care in Oncology Rehabilitation within the only NCI-Designated Cancer Center in Kansas. The faculty member contributes to the growth and advancement of the University of Kansas Oncology Rehabilitation program, delivers high-quality patient care, and participates in interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition, the Assistant Professor plays an active role in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows. Clinical and basic science research is encouraged, with laboratory facilities available to support research activities. Academic rank (Assistant, Associate, or Professor) and track (tenure or non-tenure) will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.Job Description:Job Duties Outlined:
  • Manage rehabilitation needs for patients with cancer and grow the Oncology Rehabilitation program.

  • Conduct specialty clinics and inpatient consultations in location(s) as determined.

  • Collaborate with oncologists, surgeons and others as appropriate.

  • Supervise and teach residents, fellows and medical students when assigned.

  • Lecture to residents, fellows and students. Attend Grand Rounds as scheduled.

  • Maintain scholarship commensurate with appropriate academic track.

Required Qualifications:

Education: MD, DO or equivalent
