Assistant Production Supervisor
Assistant Production Supervisor
The primary purpose of the Assistant Production Supervisor is to ensure effective, safe and cost-efficient operations and effective staff management for the Production Floor, Soil Room and Washroom departments.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Lead Soilroom and Washroom staff to meet daily/weekly production goals through efficient production processes:
    • Ensure that adequate staffing exists through effective scheduling.
    • Effectively manage labor costs as directed.
    • Ensure that all employees are adequately trained.
    • Ensure that quality and production standards are met.
  • Lead ironing and tumble fold areas as directed to meet daily/weekly production goals through efficient production processes:
    • Ensure that adequate staffing exists through effective scheduling.
    • Effectively manage labor costs as directed.
    • Ensure that all employees are adequately trained.
    • Ensure that quality and production standards are met.
  • Exhibit sound leadership in concert with Crown Laundry culture:
    • Listen to all employees, respect the employee's right to speak up
    • Serve as a role model for respect for the company's policies and procedures
  • Fill in and assist with any position as needed to ensure that production goals are met. This includes tie-out, production positions, etc.
  • Work in constant collaboration with maintenance to maintain equipment.
  • Uphold a genuine regard for safety by ensuring that safety committee meetings are held monthly on relevant topics.
    • React immediately to perceived safety violations or issues, notifying the Plant Manager.
  • Track and communicate necessary information to employees regarding production targets, achievements, etc.
    • Communicate visibly via a Production Board
    • Hold periodic department meetings to discuss accomplishments.
    • Responsible for ensuring that production reports are completed correctly everyday for the employees under his/her supervision
  • Responsible for product quality:
    • Ensure that formulas and processes are documented, taught and followed.
  • Handle administrative duties as needed:
    • Generate reports as needed in a timely manner
    • Work with office staff to ensure that new hire paperwork and other reporting is handled efficiently and accurately.

  • OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.
  • DECISIONS THE INCUMBENT MUST SEEK APPROVAL FOR PRIOR TO EXECUTION:
    • Any disciplinary issues should be discussed first with the Plant Manager before implementation.
    • Changes to existing procedures.
    DECISIONS THE INCUMBENT MAY DECIDE AND EXECUTE WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL:
    • May decide to move employees between work stations to meet production requirements.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • The ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without an accommodation.
    • At least 3 years Production experience in a related production environment, preferably in a lead position
    • Solid leadership acumen
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Has succeeded at a job that required attention to detail, flourishing in a fast pace and measuring/communicating results
    • Exceptional internal collaboration skills
    • Familiarity with production safety regulations/issues
