Job description

Position Summary
The Production departments create personalized gifts for our customers. The Assistant Supervisor supports the Department Supervisor in overseeing daily operations within a fast-paced production warehouse environment, helping ensure products are completed consistently, efficiently, and according to established quality and customer service standards.
This role provides hands-on leadership to production staff, monitors workflow and department performance, supports training and staffing needs, and helps maintain a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
Shift: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Peak season schedule may vary based on business needs. Must be available to work either 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM or 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Monitor daily department efficiency using reports, calculations, administrative data, and production tracking information
  • Monitor order backlog and workflow throughout the shift, with particular attention to express and priority orders
  • Inspect and distribute picked materials to production lines and personnel
  • Guide and assist POCs and production staff to meet required productivity and output levels
  • Support the Department Supervisor in coordinating daily workflow, staffing, and production priorities
  • Assist with training new and existing team members and making staffing adjustments as needed
  • Operate department-specific production equipment as required
  • Ensure equipment settings are accurate and appropriate for current production needs
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and assist the production team with diagnosing and resolving basic equipment issues
  • Identify and report safety concerns, policy violations, quality issues, and operational concerns to the Department Supervisor
  • Provide recommendations to improve productivity, workflow, and department efficiency when appropriate
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment
  • Promote teamwork, positive morale, accountability, and high-performance expectations
  • Demonstrate strong attendance, punctuality, and reliability while reinforcing these expectations within the team
  • Perform additional department-specific duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong training and facilitation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, including strong verbal expression and comprehension
  • Ability to provide direction and support to production staff
  • Ability to delegate, prioritize, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of production lines, workflow, and equipment capacities
  • Ability to identify opportunities and recommend improvements to productivity and efficiency
  • Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • Energetic and motivating approach to supporting team performance

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

The expected hourly pay range for this position is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.
