Job description

Position Summary:

The Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating manufacturing activities to ensure efficient production flow and on-time delivery within the solar panel manufacturing operation. This role works closely with Production, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Procurement, and Quality teams to balance production capacity, material availability, and customer demand while optimizing inventory levels and operational efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand and production capacity.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Warehouse teams to ensure material availability for production.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  • Review production orders and adjust schedules as needed to meet operational priorities and delivery commitments.
  • Analyze production capacity, manpower, and machine utilization to optimize workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality departments to resolve production constraints and scheduling conflicts.
  • Track production progress and update schedules based on actual production output.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production planning, inventory accuracy, and delivery performance.
  • Prepare production reports, forecasts, and planning analyses for management review.
  • Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives related to planning and inventory control.

Qualifications:Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in production planning, material control, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in solar panel manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, or high-volume manufacturing preferred.
Technical Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts is preferred.
  • Understanding of production scheduling and capacity planning methodologies.
