Production Planning - P2 (Production Planner II)

Responsible for planning and scheduling production activities to meet customer service level objectives while always assuring a continuous production flow.  In addition, supporting, monitoring and maintaining, in an accurate and timely manner, work-in-process, manufacturing schedules for top level and subassemblies, inventory levels, system integrity, to achieve the materials management objectives.  Will possess the requisite skills and aptitude to provide cross-functional support and plan a product line.  This individual will have the ability to contribute on a PDP (Product Development Process) team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily, weekly and monthly planning processes.
  • Planning support for a product line.
  • Proactively manage backorders.
  • Determine and manage manufacturing priorities.
  • Track schedule versus actual production.
  • Achieve service level objectives.
  • Achieve and maintain inventory/turns objectives.
  • Facilitate manufacturing planning handshake during the COP Process.
  • Manage net requirements, past due production orders, past due planned orders and order reservations.
  • Actively participate in weekly schedule adherence meetings.
  • Perform data maintenance.
  • Provide inventory analysis as required.
  • Actively participate in the VIP Process, continuously contributing VIP's.
  • Participate on PDP Teams by fulfilling PDP deliverables for Materials Management.
  • Facilitate the successful achievement of new product schedules.
  • Demonstrate ability to train an associate on the Planning Processes.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA with 3 + years of Materials Management experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Strong background in Production and/or Planning
  • MBA is preferred.
  • Experience/Knowledge in Business Processes like Master Data Maintenance, inventory management, production planning, procurement, SI&OP, MRP, etc. Also, strong experience/knowledge on systems like SAP, MES, Business Objects, Rapid Response and/or advanced supply chain planning software. Data visualization systems knowledge. Project management experience is preferred.
  • Strong People and communication skills (English & Spanish) with the ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization. Teamwork oriented.

  • Flexibility to travel, and flexible schedule to accommodate multiple time zones
