Job description

Orthodontic Assistant (EFDA)
  • Company: Harmony Orthodontics
  • Location: Multi-site rotation across Gresham, Sandy, Tualatin, OR, and Camas, WA
  • Job Type: Full-Time (4 to 5 Days a week)
  • Pay: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour DOE

Travel & Multi-Site Community Footprint: This full-time position features a dynamic regional rotation between our four beautifully appointed offices in Gresham, Sandy, Tualatin, and Camas. Reliable personal transportation and a strict willingness to travel between these local clinics is required to keep our daily practice family flowing seamlessly!

Our Daily Mission: They say the average child laughs up to 400 times a day, but the average adult only laughs 15 times. Our office makes a concerted effort to increase both numbers by removing anxiety from orthodontic care. We want our team and our patients to smile oftenโ€”no matter their age!

Why Choose the Harmony Orthodontics Family?

At Harmony Orthodontics, we believe a beautiful smile opens doors, radiates friendliness, and builds unstoppable self-confidence. We aren't just shifting teeth; we have the amazing opportunity to change how a person feels about themselves. Led by Dr. Gabriela Aranda ("Dr. Gaby") and Dr. Tod Hardin, our practice blends premier, multi-generational clinical expertise with a warm, laughter-filled family environment.

By joining our clinical squad, youโ€™ll get to collaborate with two of the Northwest's most respected smile creators:

  • Dr. Gaby: Began her career in 1998 at the prestigious New York University (NYU) School of Dentistry, graduating at the top of her class with national honors before specializing in Orthodontics at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Since 2007, she has been creating smiles across the Gresham and Camas areas. As a busy mom, she deeply appreciates the lives of working parents and designs treatment to be convenient and family-focused.
  • Dr. Tod Hardin: Comes from a proud, three-generation legacy of dental professionals, having created beautiful smiles for thousands of families in the greater Portland and Vancouver areas since 1996. Dr. Hardin brings a healthy sense of humor, a constant drive to learn, and a sincere desire to be involved in the lives of his staff. (When he's not in the clinic, you can find him capturing photography or pushing his limits at the starting line of local endurance races!)

If you want to build a fulfilling career with an expanding practice where your voice matters, your skills are celebrated, and the team genuinely feels like family, your chair is waiting.

What We're Looking For (Qualifications & Key Search Terms)
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years of clinical orthodontic assisting experience is highly preferred. We value candidates who understand bracket placement, wire sequences, and the pace of an ortho bay!
  • Credentials: Active Oregon EFDA (Expanded Functions Dental Assistant) and RHS (Radiology Health and Safety) certifications are required.
  • Certifications: Active BLS/CPR Certification (Harmony will fully fund and cover all of your regular recertification fees!).
  • Technical Software Skills: Strong working knowledge of digital charting and dental practice management software (experience with Cloud9 is a massive competitive bonus!).
  • Soft Skills: A collaborative, team-first spirit, exceptional communication skills, sharp attention to clinical detail, and a genuine love for helping kids and adults feel comfortable.
  • Safety & Compliance: This is a safety-sensitive clinical role. Successful completion of a routine pre-employment drug screening is required. We strictly follow all CDC, OSHA, and ADA guidelines to keep our team protected.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
  • Orthodontic Chairside Assisting: Provide high-quality clinical support and EFDA-level care during routine wire adjustments, bondings, appliance deliveries, and debonding appointments.
  • Digital Diagnostics: Take accurate orthodontic diagnostic records, including high-resolution digital intraoral photographs, X-rays, and computer-guided impressions.
  • Patient & Parent Concierge: Welcome families, ease treatment anxieties with high-energy positivity, give clear oral hygiene instructions, and celebrate milestone "braces-off" moments!
  • Multi-Site Synergy: Maintain an adaptable, upbeat attitude while traveling to support our operations across our Gresham, Sandy, Tualatin, and Camas clinic tracks.
Perks & Benefits That Keep You Smiling
  • Competitive Wages: Base pay of $25.00 to $29.00 per hour DOE
  • Time to Recharge: Generous accrual-based Paid Time Off (PTO) + 6 Paid Holidays
  • Comprehensive Healthcare: Dental and Vision coverage
  • Retirement Security: 401(k) retirement plan with an immediate, generous Company Match
  • Financial Safety Nets: Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability policies
  • Total Support: Access to our specialized Team Member Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your immediate family
  • Exclusive Discounts: Significant employee service discounts on orthodontic care for you and your family, plus a corporate cell phone savings plan
  • Praise & Advancement: Robust Service & Achievement Recognition Programs paired with real internal career growth opportunities
Ready to Bring Your Smile Magic to Our Dream Team?

If you are a licensed EFDA with orthodontic experience ready to step into a premier, 4-office practice where you can truly make a difference, don't wait.

Apply today to join the clinical family at Harmony Orthodontics!

This is a safety-sensitive role and requires passing a drug screen. We follow CDC, OSHA, and ADA guidelines to ensure a safe environment.
