Job description

A publicly traded manufacturer has retained us to find a Regional Assistant Plant Controller supporting multiple sites across the region. This role is Nashville-based with up to 20% travel. You will work directly with the Regional Plant Controller to bring financial rigor to a manufacturing environment that is ready for it. This is a builder role, not a maintenance role.

Why this role, right now:

The infrastructure isn't built yet — standard costing, inventory controls, and cross-site processes all need ownership. You'll be visible to operations leadership from day one and have a direct impact on how the region runs financially.-----Immediate Priorities (First 90 Days):

  • Stabilize basic accounting processes across the region

  • Improve standard costing accuracy and methodology

  • Strengthen inventory control practices and reduce exposure

Key Responsibilities ("What you'll own"):

  • Annual operating plan, monthly/rolling forecast, weekly R&O, and bridge processes

  • Interpretive and predictive financial support to operations leadership

  • CapEx business cases and financial justifications

  • Inventory control optimization across multi-site locations

  • Standard costing — proper inventory valuation, variance analysis, cost accuracy

  • Standardized accounting processes — implement and enforce across multi-site operations

  • Cross-functional collaboration with Operations and Supply Chain

Candidate Profile ("Who fits"):

REQUIRED

  • 5+ years in accounting or finance / 1+ Year leadership / mentoring

  • Manufacturing background — standard cost environment specifically

  • Hands-on with inventory management and cost accounting

  • Comfortable with ~20% regional travel

  • ERP implementation experience — any phase, any system
