Job description

Assistant Plant Controller

Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI, US, 53085 Shift: First Shift Employment Type: Salaried Full-time

Position Overview: As the Assistant Plant Controller Operations at our Sheboygan Falls campus, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with our facility leadership teams who are all about member development, manufacturing excellence, and continuous improvement. We're looking for someone who can bring their product costing expertise and leadership skills to the table, helping to spot key financial opportunities and lead impactful improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment across our three campus plants.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with all levels of members at the plants, including the core leadership teams, team leaders, and production members
  • Live the Johnsonville Way by engaging all members involved to meet business goals; be a role model and coach to help them succeed
  • Turn data into valuable insights; help explain the "what" (the facts), "why" (the drivers and trends), "so what" (ask thoughtful questions and use relationships to drive improvement), and "what's next" (next steps to sustain or improve performance and results)
  • Help create simple, clear dashboards and turn numbers into a meaningful message; connect that message to themes people can easily relate to and understand
  • Assist the Multi-Site Plant Controller in developing and sustaining a standard approach to reporting and other processes across all three campus plants, aligning with overall company processes
  • Lead month-end close tasks for campus plant operations, partnering with leadership and team leads to understand and compile clear, concise month-end deliverables
  • Assist and own various forecasting and annual budgeting processes for the campus plants using a consistent, streamlined approach
  • Lead and monitor cost savings pipelines to ensure they meet expectations for current and future years
  • Partner with the Multi-Site Plant Controller to assess new business opportunities and represent plant financial and operational impacts in decision-making discussions; provide insights on proposed capital projects (such as IRR, cost savings, and post-mortems) and productivity projects (focused on continuous improvement)
  • Identify best practices and collaborate with the Multi-Site Plant Controller to roll them out across the network
  • Support the development of procedures and controls to ensure accurate product costs and reliable inventory management
  • Provide informal leadership and financial coaching across operations
  • Other duties as assigned

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required

Experience: Six (6) years of cost accounting and analytics experience, required Prior experience in plant finance or controller-type role strongly preferred Experience in a manufacturing, food or consumer packaged goods environment, strongly preferred CMA, CPA and / or MBA preferred Experience working with and/or creating meaningful operational reports and guiding operations members on how to understand and use financial data Demonstrated leadership experience required, including influencing cross-functional teams and driving financial accountability in operations

Skills: Demonstrated experience in communicating and making financial information easy to understand across all levels of an organization Proficient in Intermediate Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); SAP preferred Skilled at analyzing data, spotting trends, and coming up with action plans or recommendations Attention to detail, with a genuine curiosity to dig into details as needed Analytical mindset to address cost variances and other opportunities Ability to make sound, independent decisions when working with incomplete data or changing priorities.

Other Requirements: Travel - Minimal This role is fully onsite at our facilities. Must be willing and able to work onsite on a full-time basis.
