Description
JOB SUMMARY: The Patient Transporter assists patients by transporting them to and from Radiology, and around the clinic.
SUPERVISOR: Radiographer Manager
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Cordially greet and guide visitors and patient
  • Transport patients to and from the radiology area
  • Comforts patients and their families by offering support and encouragement
  • Transports equipment and supplies as needed
  • Maintains a safe, secure and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with federal and state regulations
  • Requires regular and predictable attendance
  • Processes and Input x-ray orders in Radiology Programs and EMR
  • Import incoming Xray disk images
  • Burn Xray Images onto disks for patients
  • Grab patients from cast room as needed for x-rays
  • Greets patients. Provides compassion.
  • Prompt patient movement throughout the Radiology Dept and Clinic
  • Helps patients in & out of wheelchair as needed
  • Problem solves basic and routine computer problems and x-ray processes
  • Trains all incoming Patient Transporters on order entry and patient chart charging
  • Assist with room preparation/disinfection and stocking supplies

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or G.E.D.
SKILLS: Extraordinary customer service skills. Must be customer-focused.
ABILITIES: Ability to communicate effectively with all levels (patients, internal/external customers).
OTHER: Other duties as assigned as necessary and may vary at times, as needed, by your immediate supervisor or as directed by the company.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Position requires continuous walking patients to and from departments. Bending, stooping, lifting patients, pushing patients in wheelchairs. Etc.
