The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

As a Patient Transporter, you'll play a vital role in delivering safe, compassionate care by helping patients move throughout the hospital with dignity and confidence. Every interaction is an opportunity to provide reassurance while supporting the clinical teams who depend on timely patient transport.

As a Patient Transporter, a typical day might include the following:

  • Assist patients in and out of beds with the support of a nurse or PCT.
  • Assist patient discharges by safely transporting via wheelchair, ensuring a positive and compassionate transition from the hospital.
  • Ensure patients are comfortable and safe during transit.
  • Transport patients to and from hospital units and Imaging Modalities within expected timeframes.
  • Maintain communication with the Transport Dispatcher and accurately update transport status using the automated system.
  • Assist with bed management by organizing beds, cleaning beds, and removing oxygen tanks once beds are no longer in use.
  • Follow established isolation protocols, including PPE and hand hygiene requirements.
  • Use two patient identifiers to correctly identify every patient.
  • Sign in and out of the logbook, print the ticket to ride, and notify nursing staff when patients arrive on the unit.
