JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for correctly sorting and delivery of mail and parcels for military personnel and their dependents which have been assigned a receptacle at the PSC's processing general delivery and hold mail properly, forwarding of mail for personnel that closed their receptacles and for those that have gone TDY. Exemplify a culture of PRIDE (Passion, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence) at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Customer & Community - Collaborates with customers to understand and deliver customer's needs & expectations.
  • Communicate Goodwill's Mission and Focus.
  • Provide outstanding customer service.
  • Assist military personnel and dependents with mail delivery service
  • Issuing mail receptacles and briefing military personnel on their responsibilities.
  • Provide a positive professional experience to all military personnel.
  • Help resolve issues with lost or misplaced mail.
  • Establishing a good working relationship with US Post Office and commercial carriers who deliver to our mailroom.
  1. Operational Excellence -Provide the best possible mail delivery service to military personnel and dependents.
  • Must be able to breakdown a tray of mail in 15-20 minutes and pitch a tray of mail into correct mail receptacle in 20-30 minutes.
  • Ability to process parcels in a timely manner which includes writing parcel notice, marking parcel correctly, putting parcel on correct shelf of parcel ben, listing accountable on correct form and placing parcel notice into correct mail receptacle.
  • Change combos and read new correctly in a timely manner.
  • Operate service window, which includes processing incoming and departing personnel, retrieving correct parcels for customers, getting signature for accountable mail, briefing incoming personnel, answering phone properly, and able to answer questions for customers in a timely manner. Being responsible for keys that are used for cluster boxes.
  • Process general delivery and hold mail property.
  • Ability to operate PSC computer programs.
  • Must be able to separate classes of mail properly.
  • Maintain postal directory file which includes data entry on computer for incoming and departing personnel. Ability to put correct purge date on form 624. Ability to download opening and student roster. Ability to purge file monthly
  • Ability to file numerically and alphabetically.
  • Directorize mail correctly and return back to the US Post Office for processing.
  • Manage receptacles property, retrieving correct form 2262, plugging correct receptacle, placing headers on correct mail receptacle, placing red tags in receptacles, check for old mail, check for personnel living off base and check form 2258's for dates that have expired.
  • Ability to keep mail secure at all times. Must be responsible, able to close customer service window properly and lock all doors and windows at closing of PSC.
  • Employee will follow any other duty appointed by Project Manager or Supervisor.

  • Follow all policies, procedures, and directives of Goodwill Industries assuring safety of personnel or property.
  • Ensure a clean and empty workstation at the end of shift.
  • Dispose of trash.
  • Recycle all paper products.
  • Keep aisles free from debris.
  • Pushing or pulling containers weighing up to 30-40lbs. or up to 70lbs. utilizing a team lift.
  • Always maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Properly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Safeguard company property; report any incident of theft, fraud, waste, or unauthorized possession of company property.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.

  • Requires punctual and regular attendance. Time away from work is approved and taken in accordance with established policies.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends.
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be able to interact cordially with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Able to communicate and understand instructions, both verbal and written, in English.
  • Able to market Goodwill and explain the mission to the general public.
  • Able to lift and carry objects weighing 40lbs or up to 70bs utilizing a team lift.
  • Able to engage in prolonged standing and walking.
  • Able to perform frequent bending, stooping and stretching.
