FLOOR MANAGER 
People are at the heart of what Nature's Fare Markets does and with this lens, the Floor Manager acts as the lead operator on the sales floor, ensuring smooth day-to-day execution across all departments. This role serves as a developmental bridge between Department Managers and Assistant Store Manager, expanding leadership from one department to the entire sales floor. The Floor Manager ensures standards are executed, labour is deployed effectively, customer concerns are addressed, opening and closing routines are completed to standard and operational issues are resolved in real time.  The Floor Manager's focus is in the present - how do we do our best today!  We believe in people first; that must be your priority too. 
We are seeking a Floor Manager to join Nature's Fare Markets in our new Chilliwack location! This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, motivated individual to be a part of growing a store team from the ground up.  This role could be a great fit for a current retail (preferrably grocery) Department Manager or equivalent leader, who consistently demonstrates store-wide thinking, strong leadership through others and a keen readiness to set up from department to store leadership.  If you love a challenge and an adventure, we just might be right for you.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: 
Leadership & People Development 
  • Effectively coaches and develops Team Leaders, Team Members, and emerging leaders.
  • Influences outcomes through people rather than personally completing all tasks.
  • Holds others accountable while maintaining strong relationships.
  • Demonstrates readiness/ability to lead Department Managers
  • Support Assistant Manager with onboarding, training reinforcement, and engagement initiatives. 
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures across the sales floor. 
  • Provide support for Department Manager performance reviews and development plans through coaching and mentoring. 
Operations & Sales Floor Oversight 
  • Oversee day-to-day sales floor operations across all departments (Grocery, Produce, Wellness, Bistro, Cash, Receiving/Office). 
  • Maintains standards and drives execution through others. 
  • Anticipate traffic flow and adjust labor or reallocate support across departments as needed. 
  • Partner with Department Managers to troubleshoot operational issues and maintain efficiency, effectively prioritizing competing demands. 
  • Monitor sales floor execution of promotions, product launches, and merchandising standards and quickly identifies issues and mobilizes resources to resolve them. 
Customer Service & Sales 
  • Act as the lead customer ambassador on the sales floor, resolving escalated concerns with professionalism. 
  • Support store-wide sales goals through promotional readiness, strong presentation, and customer engagement. 
  • Assist with coordinating and supporting in-store events and promotions.
  • Maintains a calm professionalism during customer concerns, peak periods and operational challenges. 
Other 
  • Serve as the acting ASM in their absence, when delegated. 
  • Support and backfill Department Managers, as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support store leadership and operational continuity. 
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a management position
    • Minimum 1 year at the Department Manager level in retail (or equivalent)
    • Preferred industry: grocery
  • Post-secondary education in business administration, management, or related field preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated operational execution skills
  • Merchandising and promotional execution skills
  • Labour deployment and team coordination experience
  • Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the store including mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and long/unusual hours - Requirement to work one weekend day and one closing shift each week.
