Job Summary: Our dynamic, forward thinking, wholesale seafood company is looking for someone to join our team as a benefit eligible full-round or extended season employee. Supervisory Responsibility

·         Provide direction and leadership in absence of Manager

·         Ensure staff are maintaining standards set forth by WSC

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensures correct checking, sorting, and grading of shellfish and other products as assigned.
  • Proficient in sorting, packing, rotating, shucking, processing, and receiving of product.
  • Understands and can administer processes for ensuring equipment is in good working order including but not limited to the operation of the lobster tanks.
  • Monitors each stage of the processing process, recording each run as complete and ready for storage as appropriate.
  • Ensures equipment is sterile and processing area is clean.
  • Ensures food handling regulations and vendor recommendations for processing and sanitation are implemented and followed.
  • Supports shift manager and operates as lead in the absence of him or her.   
  • Is a leader and role model to other staff
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

·         Passionate about shellfish and the fishing industry

·         Ability to follow directions.

·         Ability to assess products for quality compliance.

·         Good time management skills.

·         Basic understanding of principles and processes of customer service

Education and Experience:

·         High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.

·         At least two years of related work experience required.

Physical Requirements:

·         Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

·         Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
