Job description

SUMMARY:

Support the Snowsports Director in the daily operation of the Snowsports School by helping lead staff, oversee lesson operations, and ensure an exceptional guest experience. Assist with scheduling, training, supervision, and administrative tasks while promoting safety, teamwork, and high-quality instruction. Work closely with other departments to ensure efficient operations and serve as the department leader in the Director's absence.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

  • Ensure a high level of guest service across all Snowsports programs, lesson sales, and on-snow experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Snowsports Director, Operations Manager, and Business Manager to support daily operations and overall department performance by:
    • Assisting with on-snow operations, including class splits, instructor assignments, and scheduling to ensure exceptional guest experiences and consistent lesson delivery.
    • Supporting office operations, including lesson sales, scheduling, and guest service.
    • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling staff to maintain appropriate staffing levels aligned with departmental and business needs.
    • Assist in the development and delivery of training programs, including instructor development, clinics, and cross-disciplinary training opportunities.
    • Provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and timely, actionable feedback while maintaining accurate performance documentation.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
    • Ensure staff compliance with Bridger Bowl policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Administrative responsibilities include:
    • Managing the department as a profit center by maintaining operations within budget and supporting the Director with annual budget planning.
    • Maintaining accurate records, reports, and database systems while ensuring the confidentiality of protected information.
    • Support the Snowsports Business and Operations Managers’ duties in their absence to ensure operational continuity.
    • Assist with inventory management, equipment needs, uniforms, and departmental supplies.
    • Support marketing and public relations initiatives in collaboration with the Snowsports Director.
    • Attend and participate in required meetings, training sessions, and seasonal planning efforts.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director.

SUPERVISION:

  • Supervision Given:  This position is responsible for managing the Snowsports Business and Operations Manager, as well as all Snowsports staff.
  • Supervision Received:  Works under the supervision of the Snowsports Director.  Receives assignments as directed, with clear expectations, available guidance, and periodic performance reviews as needed or during check-ins.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Customer service experience, including excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience managing and leading employees as part of an operations team.
  • Knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems, Scheduling platforms, Personnel management software, and additional computer applications.
  • Previous experience with the Snowsports industry including current PSIA or AASI certification. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Outdoor: Regularly working in quickly changing winter weather conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements. May be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Indoor: Regularly work under consistent lighting and temperature controls.
  • Work physically near others throughout the shift.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting at a desk executing repetitive movements including typing.
  • Using hands and fingers to proficiently operate computers and keyboards. 
  • May require bending, stooping, standing, walking, and moving items that weigh up to 30 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, communicate effectively with coworkers and visitors, handle stressful situations and upset customers, and complete tasks independently and efficiently.
