Assistant neuropsychologists work alongside the primary neuropsychologist at a research or medical facility. Your specific job duties vary, depending on your employer and industry. Many assistant neuropsychologists conduct research on different aspects of the brain and nervous system, such as brain disorders and injuries, brain function, brain patterns in emotional or mental health, or the development of the nervous system. Or you may work in hospitals, clinics, or other medical organizations and treat patients with neurological problems, including those who suffered a stroke or head injury, or who were born with a neurological disorder. Assistant neuropsychologists typically work under the supervision of a lead neuropsychologist.
