To thrive as an Assistant Network Engineer, you need a solid understanding of networking fundamentals, troubleshooting, and basic knowledge of protocols like TCP/IP, often supported by a degree in IT or a related field. Familiarity with network monitoring tools, routers, switches, and entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA is typically required.
