Job description

Landscape Design/Sales Professional

Bloom Partners has been engaged by a fast-growing Residential and Commercial Landscape company in the Burlington, VT market to recruit and hire a customer-facing Design/Sales Professional to join their landscape team.

Reporting directly to the President, the Design/Sales Professional will be responsible for and devoted to the design and management of all projects assigned to them. This entails preparing, site analysis, design development drawings, illustrative graphics/ renderings, conceptual plans, and contract creations seeing each full project through completion.

The Landscape Designer/Sales Professional will prepare sketches, preliminary and full plans, specifications, and construction documents. They will also support the sales and marketing efforts, have outstanding verbal, written, and graphic communication skills, possess a positive attitude, and have a passion for landscape and design. They will also call and meet with new design/build landscape clients and create budget-based landscape plans and proposals.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Meet with Clients and manage accounts and estimates
  • Conduct pre-design site visits and record technical information.
  • Create and coordinate contracts with clients
  • Manage and prioritize projects, schedules, and budgets.
  • Assist other designers with project management and contract administration.
  • Communication with vendors and subcontractors
  • Use of new landscape techniques and materials.
  • Follow a specific budget guideline for each specific job
  • Be familiar with the industry practices and terminology
  • Knowledge of grading and drainage including preparing grading plans, layout, material choices, construction methods, etc.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Microsoft Office/Word/Excel/Outlook, Sketchup, Dynascape, and other industry-related computer programs
  • Knowledge of plant material and uses in designs
  • Create 2D & 3D designs that bring the client's dreams to life

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong use and knowledge of plant material suitable for the climate and soils.
  • Proficiency in grading and drainage.
  • Strong Graphics, including hand and computer-generated color renderings, details, etc.
  • Familiarity with industry practices and terminology
  • Knowledge of state and local permitting requirements and ability to create permitting documents to obtain permits.
  • Superior written and verbal communication
  • Valid Driver’s License & clean insurance record
  • General Landscape Maintenance knowledge in the industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the landscape design/build field.
  • Willingness to learn and work well with a team.
  • Computer software including Go ILawn or PRO Landscape (preferred but not required), Microsoft Office/Word/Excel/Outlook, Include Asset, E-mail and Voicemail proficiencies, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
