Position Summary: ย Weโ€™re seeking a proactive, detail-driven Transport Specialist to support our Machine Moving & Rigging (MMR) team. This individual will serve as our primary Class A CDL driver, oversee DOT compliance and equipment registration, and coordinate the safe, timely transport of heavy equipment to and from job sites across the region.ย

Essential Job Function:


Transportation:

  • Serve as primary CDL Class A driver for heavy equipment transport when needed.
  • Safely operate rigging vehicles and demonstrate initiative in task completion. Learn about rigging trucks, tools, and equipment to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Assist in the transportation of equipment to and from client sites, ensuring proper loading, unloading, and securing of items to minimize the risk of damage during transit.
  • Maintain DOT files and ensure full compliance with federal and CDOT regulations.
  • Conduct and document Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs), trip logs, fuel tax reports, and driver logs. Track and report KPIs such as mileage, fuel usage, on-time delivery, loading accuracy, and damage rates.
  • Work with planning and the MM&R Manager to schedule and coordinate equipment transport to job sites, ensuring efficient load planning and safe deliveries.
  • Participate in job walks to assess site access, rigging needs, and transport feasibility. Support the estimating process by contributing transport-related time, equipment, and labor inputs.

Equipment Handling:

  • Safely and efficiently handle a wide range of equipment, including manufacturing machinery, injection mold equipment, metalworking tools, semiconductor cleanroom tools, specialized laboratory equipment, optical tables, medical devices, and more.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools and rigging equipment.

Installation Support:

  • Provide support during the installation process, working closely with our team of technicians to ensure equipment is properly positioned, assembled, and operational according to client specifications.
  • Assist in preparing machinery for relocation by securely packaging and securing it in crates on customer sites.

Other:

  • Manage registration, inspection, maintenance, and documentation for all transport vehicles and heavy equipment. Maintain tracker and inform team of vehicle maintenance schedule.
  • Support internal efforts to streamline transportation processes, increase load capacity, and reduce logistics errors. Facilitate forklift safety training and certification program for Operations personnel.
  • Oversee quality control measures aligned with ISO standards.
  • Ensure a safe, clean and well-organized work environment.
  • Train new MMR team members on equipment protocols, transport safety procedures, and company standards.
  • Demonstrate and apply our internal and external company values (aka "Anchors") by working positively and collaboratively with team members and customers to form good partnerships and great teams while innovating, eliminating the non-essential and improving.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of DOT/CDOT regulations and compliance programs. Familiarity with Colorado-specific transport permits and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing transportation documentation and fleet maintenance schedules.
  • Proficient in ISO quality standards and KPI tracking.
  • Comfortable training others on operational and safety protocols.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with field crews, customers, engineers, and leadership.
  • Intermediate knowledge and proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and pallet jacks for equipment handling and installation tasks.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and critical thinking to address challenges encountered during equipment moves and installations.
  • Proficiency in multitasking and self-management to handle various responsibilities simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • CDL Class A
