Department: Warehouse & Logistics
Location: On-Site - Lakewood, CO (Routes: Denver Metro, Front Range, I-70 Corridor)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $24.00 - $30.00 / hour, DOE
Position Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
Since 1996, we have provided high quality commercial finish carpentry services and solutions throughout the Rocky Mountain region. We specialize in architectural woodwork, casework, countertops, upholstery, ornamental metals, decorative glass, specialties, doors, frames and hardware.
Edge Construction Specialties drivers are the final link between our shop and the job site. You'll operate company-owned vehicles on delivery routes primarily within the Denver Metro area, the Front Range I-25 corridor, the ski resorts along the I-70 corridor, and occasionally throughout Colorado. This role demands dependability, safe driving in all conditions, and professional customer-facing communication.

Primary Responsibilities
Deliveries & Route Execution
• Execute efficient pickup and delivery routes throughout the day, regardless of weather conditions
• Anticipate weather conditions and prepare accordingly - if CDOT says the roads are open, the route runs as scheduled
• Load delivery vehicles with all products and materials scheduled for the day
• Deliver and unload products to the correct addresses; take photos, obtain signatures, and capture proof of receipt
• Pick up parcels, return items, and company orders along the scheduled route as requested
Safe Vehicle Operation
• Safely operate single-axle box trucks (under 26,000 GVW) and understand all features of each vehicle
• Safely operate pickup truck and trailer combinations
• Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and defensive driving practices
• Keep truck clean, organized, and properly maintained inside and out
• Ensure delivery vehicles receive basic service per the maintenance schedule; report larger service needs to supervisor
• Maintain accurate records for pre/post-trip inspections, truck mileage, and tasks completed
Material Handling
• Organize, wrap, and load finished products into trucks - proper loading sequence is essential to protecting the product
• Stage, load, and unload the right products and materials to the correct location
• Handle all materials with care to prevent damage during transit; apply proper on/off-loading techniques
Communication & Customer Interaction
• Call ahead to site foremen and vendors to coordinate pickup and drop-off times
• Maintain professional, courteous interactions with customers and foremen at job sites
• Manage proof of delivery via smartphone - photos, signatures, and status updates - in a timely manner
• Use smartphone navigation tools to plan and execute routes efficiently
Warehouse Support
• Assist with general warehouse duties when the delivery route is completed
• Willingness to support shop tasks and other responsibilities as they arise
• Perform other related duties as assigned
What Success Looks Like
• Routes are completed on time, every time - safely and without product damage
• Job sites receive the right materials, in the right condition, with proper documentation
• Communication with foremen and customers is proactive and professional
• The truck is clean, maintained, and inspection-ready
• You're back in the shop and pitching in when the route is done
Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to safely drive large box trucks and navigate in all weather conditions
  • Able to pass DOT medical certification• Absolutely dependable, punctual, and safety-focused
  • Ability to read maps and follow route instructions via smartphone• Ability to communicate in English - written and verbal - via phone and smartphone apps
  • Able to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision
  • Ability to remain professional and courteous at all times

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience driving pickup truck and trailer combinations
  • Forklift certification
  • Ability to operate standard pallet jacks and shrink-wrap equipment
  • Familiarity with millwork, building materials, or construction supply environments
  • Knowledge of on/off-loading techniques to prevent product damage in transit
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • On-the-road role with daily driving throughout the Denver Metro area and Front Range; occasional mountain routes
  • Must be able to drive safely in all weather conditions - fog, rain, snow, and ice
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. independently and up to 100 lbs. with assistance
  • Ability to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various weather conditions
  • Good eyesight required (corrective lenses acceptable)
  • Ability to work overtime as needed to meet customer and team commitments
