This position is located at our award-winning Tenderloin Clubhouse, one of our strongest and most effective program locations. BGCSF is proud to be a leader in supporting youth and families in the Tenderloin, working closely with many strong community partners. As part of our commitment to the evolution and growth of this important neighborhood, we are exploring plans for a new state-of-the-art Clubhouse in the neighborhood. What You’ll Do

Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President of Clubhouse Services, the Clubhouse Director is in charge of the Tenderloin Clubhouse, providing vision, high-level leadership, and daily operational oversight. The Clubhouse Director is ultimately responsible for managing team members, program delivery, data-driven outcome measurement, strategic community partnerships, risk management, facility maintenance, and fiscal budget management while cultivating a safe, aspirational, and positive Club culture.

  • Club Oversight & Leadership (45%)
    • Develop and reinforce a Clubhouse culture that embodies BGCSF values and high standards for staff, youth, families, and community partners.
    • Enforce risk management, facility maintenance, vehicle safety, cleanliness, and overall safety protocols.
    • Directly supervise the Assistant Clubhouse Director and 2–3 direct service staff, providing growth opportunities via team meetings, retreats, and 1:1 supervision.
    • Ensure staff Management by Objective (MBO) goals align with the organizational strategic plan.
    • Analyze daily Club data (enrollment, attendance, total and program goals) to develop success plans when targets are off-track.
    • Lead crisis response and provide strong leadership during community violence or escalated incidents.
    • Execute the annual 360-degree evaluation process (parent surveys, youth evaluations, staff self-evaluations).
    • Attend and support major organizational events (Board Celebrations, Youth of the Year, Gala).
  • Strategic Partnerships & Collaborations (30%)
    • Develop and execute impactful program, community, school, and facility-use partnerships/MOUs.
    • Maintain strong working relationships with police captains, school administrators (principals, vice principals, social workers, liaisons), and local community-based organizations.
    • Oversee site volunteer opportunities and ensure high-quality volunteer management and hour tracking.
  • Finance & Resource Management (25%)
    • Develop and manage the Clubhouse budget with Finance to minimize overage and ensure collection of earned income.
    • Ensure Club revenue and Camp Mendocino fundraising goals are met.
    • Partner with Development and Institutional Giving by assisting with grant writing, grant outcome reporting, leading donor tours, and supporting development initiatives.
What You BringRequired
  • 5 to 7 years of leadership experience in a human services or education-related organization, with proven success in staff management, operations, and community relations
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, manage, lead, and motivate a team
  • Strong leadership skills, including negotiation, problem-solving, delegation, and decision-making
  • Innate desire to analyze operational and attendance data to drive decisions and strategic plans
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of facility, safety, and asset management
  • Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (or willing to obtain within 90 days of employment)
Preferred
  • Thorough understanding of non-profits and youth development organizations, including risk management best practices
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively.
  • Must be able to stoop and crouch.
  • Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $92,000–$100,000 annual. Final compensation is determined based on a range of factors, including skill set, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs. Candidates may be hired at the entry, mid, or senior level of the range depending on qualifications and position requirements.


Pre-Employment Requirements

As part of the hiring process, BGCSF requires candidates to complete LiveScan fingerprinting, a background check, and a tuberculosis (TB) evaluation or test.
