Job description

SummaryWe are seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to oversee all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on a large-scale construction project in Reno, NV. This role will be responsible for coordinating MEP trades, ensuring installation quality, maintaining schedule adherence, and driving successful system commissioning on a complex, high-profile project such as a large hospitality development, resort, arena, or similar large commercial facility.The ideal candidate will have extensive field leadership experience on large or technically complex projects and a strong ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily field operations for all MEP trades including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and controls.
  • Coordinate installation activities between MEP subcontractors, general superintendent, project management team, and design consultants.
  • Lead MEP coordination meetings and assist with resolving design conflicts and constructability issues.
  • Monitor installation progress and ensure work aligns with project schedule, sequencing, and milestones.
  • Ensure systems are installed in accordance with plans, specifications, and code requirements.
  • Manage inspections, testing, startup, and commissioning of all MEP systems.
  • Review and coordinate RFIs, submittals, and change orders related to MEP scopes.
  • Identify and mitigate field conflicts early to maintain productivity and avoid schedule delays.
  • Maintain strict adherence to jobsite safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Support project closeout including punch list completion, commissioning documentation, and turnover.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • 10+ years of construction experience, with at least 5+ years as an MEP Superintendent or MEP Field Leader.
  • Experience on large-scale projects ($100M+) such as:
    • Arenas or stadiums
    • Large hospitality/resort developments
    • Casinos
    • Convention centers
    • Large commercial or mixed-use projects
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and building systems integration.
  • Proven experience coordinating multiple MEP subcontractors in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and BIM coordination models.
  • Experience supporting commissioning and system startup processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on large hospitality, casino, or arena projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM coordination platforms (Navisworks, BIM 360, etc.).
  • OSHA 30 certification.
