Brief Job Description
This position comes with a tuition scholarship that will cover up to 9 credits of tuition per semester at the in-state rate.
Assist mathematics instructors with classroom presentations and provide computer laboratory assistance for students. Responsible for assisting in maintaining technology and computers for classroom use and the computers in the Math Department computer labs. Occasional evening and weekend availability required.
Required Qualifications
Current or entering full-time (6 credit hours) matriculated graduate student at Buffalo State College. Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills. Intermediate-level knowledge of the Macintosh and Windows environments. Demonstrated knowledge or interest in computer technology and willingness and ability to learn new computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), communication software and CAS (Computer Algebra Systems), html programming to maintain the department web page. UNIX to do routine maintenance of the LINUX lab and multimedia software such as iMovie, Adobe Suite and others as required. Department will provide training on these skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics Education or a field related to Science or Computers.
