ABOUT THE ROLE

Amsted Automotive's TransForm Automotive division in Shelby Twp is seeking a day shift Tool Room Team Leader responsible for supporting the daily manufacturing operations of the plant.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Adapt and promote Lean Manufacturing principals using 5”S” and Kaizen processes
  • Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives through Continuous Improvement action plan participation and ensuring completion
  • Responsible for leading, coaching, mentoring, and educating personnel in daily Tool Room operations to meet production goals
  • Provides Job Instructions for the following standard:
  • Ensure that Company Safety Policies and procedures are followed and adhered to
  • Use of Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis fundamentals in mentoring associates
  • Ensure that production requirements are satisfied
  • Keep work areas in ideal state, ensuring that all associates work areas are clean and organized to meet or exceed 5S standards
  • Formulate permanent corrective actions for operational efficiency
  • Responsible for a specific area of concentration within the manufacturing environment
  • Other duties as required by the Tooling Supervisor and other Management
  • Supports daily activities of the Tool room personnel

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Some college and/or technical trade manufacturing education is preferred
  • Must demonstrate proficiency of Blueprint GD&T interpretation of Dies, Details, and Part Prints
  • Must be able to interpret C.M.M. and gaging information and direct personnel to perform adjustments to maintain Customer Part Quality
  • Possess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria to maintain manufacturing environmental standards to protect and preserve or customers product and the environment
  • Journeyman status or eight years’ experience in Tool and Die Build, Prototype, or Die Repair Technician
