Job description

Part-Time QuickBooks Online Bookkeeper

Progressive Practice Sales | Chattanooga, TN

$27–$30/hour, depending on experience

Part-time, variable hours | Opportunity to grow into full-time

Progressive Practice Sales (PPS) is launching ValueStack, a new bookkeeping, financial reporting, and practice value advisory program created specifically for chiropractic practice owners.

We are looking for an experienced QuickBooks Online bookkeeper to join us at the beginning of this growing program. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants flexibility now, enjoys working directly with small-business owners, and is interested in growing into a larger role as our client base expands.

About the Position

This is a part-time, variable-hours W-2 position. Because ValueStack is newly launching, we cannot guarantee a minimum number of hours initially.

The selected candidate will begin with approximately 2–4 hours of paid training to learn the ValueStack program, PPS bookkeeping standards, client intake process, and reporting structure. Once trained, you will maintain an online calendar showing your general availability for client onboarding appointments.

We are currently beginning client consultations and expect bookkeeping work to begin shortly as clients enroll. PPS will be actively promoting the program once our bookkeeper is in place, so we anticipate the opportunity for hours to grow with enrollment.

Our goal is for this position to develop into consistent part-time work and potentially a full-time role as ValueStack grows.

What You'll Do

You will work with chiropractic practice owners and the PPS team to:

·        Conduct onboarding calls for new bookkeeping clients

·        Review client's current QuickBooks and bookkeeping setup

·        Help identify accounts, integrations, reporting needs, and bookkeeping cleanup requirements

·        Set up and maintain client accounts in QuickBooks Online

·        Maintain standardized Charts of Accounts based on PPS reporting standards

·        Categorize transactions accurately and consistently

·        Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial accounts

·        Identify missing, duplicate, unusual, or unclear transactions

·        Communicate directly with clients when clarification or documentation is needed

·        Track owner benefits, nonrecurring expenses, and other potential financial adjustments using established PPS procedures

·        Maintain appropriate tracking for locations, providers, or other reporting units when applicable

·        Assist with current-year bookkeeping cleanup and conversion of new client files

·        Prepare standardized financial reports for PPS and our clients

·        Maintain supporting documentation and reconciliation records

·        Complete monthly bookkeeping accurately and on schedule

·        Follow PPS quality-control, security, and client-data procedures

What We're Looking For

We need someone who is already comfortable working independently in QuickBooks Online and understands bookkeeping beyond basic transaction entry, so they can confidently manage client’s day-to-day bookkeeping, complete reconciliations, identify and troubleshoot issues, and understand how transactions affect a client’s financial statements.

The right candidate will have:

·        Strong hands-on QuickBooks Online experience

·        Experience completing month-end bookkeeping and account reconciliations

·        A solid understanding of P&Ls, Balance Sheets, and Chart of Accounts structure

·        Experience reviewing and cleaning up existing QBO files

·        Strong attention to detail and accuracy

·        Excellent organizational skills

·        The ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines

·        Good judgment when something in the books doesn't look right

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills

·        Comfort interacting professionally with practice owners on video calls

·        The ability to learn and consistently follow standardized processes

·        The ability to work independently once trained

Because client appointments will be scheduled based on the availability you provide, attention to your calendar is important. You will be responsible for keeping your online availability current so clients are only able to schedule during times you are actually available.

Especially Helpful

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

·        Managing bookkeeping for multiple clients

·        Working for a bookkeeping or accounting firm

·        Experience with healthcare or professional-service businesses

·        QuickBooks classes and location tracking

·        Management or profitability reporting

·        QBO cleanup and conversion projects

·        Payroll-related bookkeeping

·        Owner/discretionary expense tracking

·        QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification

Schedule + Work Location

This is a flexible, variable-hour position during the initial launch of ValueStack.

There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours at the outset. Hours will increase as clients enroll and recurring bookkeeping work is established.

You will maintain an online calendar with your general availability for client appointments and may adjust that availability as needed. You are not expected to remain available or "on call" during unscheduled time.

We are looking for someone in the Chattanooga area who can work in our Signal Mountain office during initial training and periodically as needed. Once established, the majority of ongoing bookkeeping work can be completed remotely.

Compensation + Growth

$27–$30/hour, depending on experience

Paid initial training

Part-time, variable hours to start

Increasing hours expected as ValueStack enrollment grows

Opportunity to develop into a consistent part-time position, with potential to grow into a full-time role

To Apply

Please send your resume along with a brief note answering the following:

1.     How many years have you worked with QuickBooks Online?

2.     Have you managed bookkeeping for multiple businesses or clients at the same time?

3.     What experience do you have with month-end reconciliations and QBO cleanup?

4.     Are you comfortable participating in video calls directly with clients?

  • 5.     What does your general weekday availability look like?
