Position Overview

Reporting to our General Manager, the Environmental Technician performs tasks under the direct guidance of a supervisor including non-emergency and emergency response activities involving confined space entry such as manholes, tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping and shoveling, high pressure washing and various other remedial activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) properly and adhere to all safety procedures.
  • Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions throughout the shift.
  • Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces and at heights.
  • Operates light and heavy equipment not limited to Forklifts, Aerial Lifts, Boom Lifts, Skid Steers, Excavators, Pressure washers, pumps, and other company work vehicles.
  • Attends mandatory training to earn certifications and to obtain information specific to responsibilities.
  • Ensure all proper paperwork is signed and submitted.
  • Works “On-Call” based on the rotating “On-Call” schedule for Emergency Response. May require out-of-town travel. Length of travel will depend on the service center and on-going projects.
  • Comply with on-going and random drug testing and physicals as required by the company.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work a rotating shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for extended periods of time, overnight and on an on-call basis.
  • Able to read, write, and understand the English language, and able to follow verbal and written instructions.

Education and Experience Required

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
  • At least 6 months of Construction or General Labor experience.
