Position Opening: Graphic Designer
Job Summary
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of creative assets across all Happy Hospitality brands. This part-time role will assist in producing both digital and print materials that support ongoing marketing, promotional, and operational initiatives.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in design principles, visual storytelling, and creative problem-solving, along with a desire to continually refine and expand their craft. This role requires working knowledge of graphic design across print and digital platforms, including social media graphics, email marketing assets, website updates, menus, flyers, signage, event collateral, and other promotional materials.
We're seeking a conceptual thinker with strong execution skills who is passionate about producing authentic, meaningful, and effective design. Qualified candidates must be able to interpret written and verbal direction and translate ideas into compelling visual solutions across a variety of formats and mediums. The ideal portfolio will demonstrate versatility, showcasing both digital and traditional applications, including social media content, email campaigns, website assets, menus, signage, promotional materials, and other physical brand elements.
Success in this role requires strong communication skills, collaborative spirit, high attention to detail, and a deep appreciation for thoughtful design. This is an exciting opportunity to support a dynamic hospitality portfolio and grow within a creative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Digital Marketing Manager and Brand Manager in developing and executing creative assets from initial concept through final production. Projects can include social media graphics, email campaigns, website updates, branded and promotional materials, menus, signage, packaging, advertising, logo refreshes, and event collateral.
  • Create print materials including menus, flyers, signage, event promotions, and other in-store marketing pieces.
  • Work with the Digital Marketing Manager and Brand Manager to create original designs for merchandise.
  • Support the Events & Catering team to produce collateral for events, private dining, catering initiatives, packaging, and other brand experiences.
  • Contribute design-driven ideas that elevate brand presence and drive both new and repeat business.
  • Support in the development and refinement of brand guidelines and promotional templates to ensure cohesive visual communication.
  • Ensure all brand standards and processes are consistently applied across every design project and production output.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, welcoming feedback and incorporating revisions to achieve strong creative outcomes.
  • Stay current with design, hospitality, and lifestyle trends to inform fresh, relevant creative solutions.

Physical Functions
Frequently requires time pressures, frequent change of tasks, tedious or exacting work, and working with others as part of a team. Occasionally requires performing multiple tasks simultaneously, emergency situations, and irregular schedule.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • 1-3 years of professional graphic design experience required; hospitality, food, or restaurant industry experience preferred but not required. We welcome candidates earlier in their careers who demonstrate strong foundational skills and a compelling portfolio.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with an emphasis on Adobe Illustrator and Procreate. Working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop required.
  • Experience with Shopify preferred
  • Experience with Canva or a comparable design platform preferred.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a part-time capacity.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt and reprioritize based on evolving business needs.
  • Strong understanding of how marketing, public relations, and business development align to support overall brand strategy and growth.

Compensation Details
Compensation: $20-25/hr
This role is not eligible for bonuses, commissions, or equity compensation. Total compensation consists of hourly pay and the benefits listed below.
