Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager - Product Management is a member of the Beaver Creek Ski & Snowboard School management team responsible for the overall quality, performance, and guest experience of all assigned lesson and program offerings. This role provides leadership and support to a team of supervisors and instructors while serving as the primary liaison between the Location Manager, supervisory team, and product sales team to ensure alignment in program delivery, operational execution, and business objectives. The Product Manager is accountable for maintaining exceptional product standards, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring all lesson products consistently deliver an Experience of a Lifetime for our guests. This position is also responsible for forecasting staffing needs and ensuring lesson products are appropriately staffed to meet projected business demand and operational goals.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure overall quality of the private lesson business
  • Ensure timely follow-up with guests during recovery situations
  • Be a leader among Assistant Managers and exhibit a strong, confident, and reassuring leadership presence
  • Oversee the private lesson Assistant Managers
  • Match guest needs to Instructor qualities for private lessons ensuring the best possible fit for each guest and Instructor
  • Assist Location Manager in forecasting and evaluating staffing levels relative to business needs 
  • Utilize guest feedback and observations appropriately to coach and council Instructors and discreetly give timely feedback to Instructors in order to raise quality of product
  • Communicate training needs to Location Manager, Senior Manager, and Senior Director to ensure Instructors have the tools to meet guests needs
  • Monitor Instructor schedule changes and scheduling accuracy and address compliance issues with Assistant Managers and Instructors (ex. days off, sick calls, etc…)
  • Anticipate business needs and staff appropriately to ensure private lessons are never sold out
  • Acts as the Manager on Duty in the absence of the Location Manager
  • Model the Epic Service expected at Beaver Creek
  • Model, observe and communicate proper safety behavior
  • Manage the Assistant Manager schedules
  • Be a team player supporting all facets of the school (adults, kids, nordic, adaptive)
  • Administrative duties.
  • Driving value for the company.
  • Be prepared to teach when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • High School Degree or Equivalent required, College degree - preferred.
  • Minimum three years as a full time instructor for a recognized ski and snowboard school - required.
  • At least two years of supervisor experience within the Ski and Snowboard Industry - preferred
  • PSIA/AASI Level 2 Certification or higher - preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) is required.  Knowledge of RPOS, Proconnect, Workday - preferred.
  • Must read, speak, and comprehend English and possess writing and editing skills - required.
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills.  Must be organized and detail-oriented- required.
  • Modern skiing/riding ability and ability to appropriately assess levels and proper teaching techniques
  • Knowledge of Beaver Creek Ski & Snowboard School operations - preferred. 

The expected pay range is $57,784.00 - $65,433.00. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
