Independent Artist Group (IAG) was formed through the merger of Agency for the Performing Arts (APA) and Artist Group International (AGI) in 2023, bringing together two industry-leading agencies with expertise across talent, literary, music, comedy, branding, and intellectual property. Built on a foundation of collaboration, innovation, and exceptional client service, IAG represents some of the entertainment industry's most accomplished artists and creators while developing strategic partnerships across film, television, music, publishing, digital media, and emerging platforms.ย 


What We Are Looking Forย 

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Assistant to support the Head of Media Finance & Sales, as well as an agent in our Motion Picture Literary department. The role offers hands-on exposure to the financing, packaging, sales, and strategic development of film projects, including activity around major film festivals and markets, while also providing experience in feature literary representation. The Assistant will work across a broad range of projects and clients, including writers, directors, producers, production companies, and intellectual property, at various stages of development, financing, packaging, and sale. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, intellectually curious, eager to learn, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Together, these responsibilities will provide well-rounded exposure to the feature film business.ย 


Dutiesย 

  • Manage heavy phones, roll calls, maintain calendars, schedule meetings, and prepare meeting notes
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel, including itineraries and related logistics
  • Prepare invoices, expense reports, and other administrative documentation
  • Maintain departmental databases, project grids, buyer and contact lists, and client records
  • Track projects, submissions, meetings, and follow-up across development, financing, packaging, and sales activity
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of project materials, submissions, and internal briefing documents
  • Support planning and preparation for major film festivals and markets
  • Communicate professionally with clients, buyers, studio executives, producers, managers, attorneys, and other industry professionals
  • Read scripts, books, and other literary material and assist with coverage, research, and project-related assignments as needed
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support while maintaining the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
