Description
The Division of Adult Acute Psychiatry in the University of Rochester Department of Psychiatry invites applications for a full time psychiatrist with interest and/or experience in working with an acute patient population in an emergency psychiatry setting, the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP).
Join a vibrant, multidisciplinary team providing acute psychiatric care in CPEP. This is a unique opportunity to work as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team together with psychiatrists, trainees, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and clinical evaluators. The position would be sited at Strong Memorial Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
This full time position includes an academic appointment with the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry at the rank of clinical senior instructor, clinical assistant or clinical associate professor, commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Teaching and clinical supervision of psychiatric residents and medical students is an integral part of this position.
With over 9,000 visits per year, we are the primary provider of emergency psychiatric services to our diverse and vibrant community in Western New York. Our program has a 24/7 interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, RN's and social workers, and encompasses a dedicated behavioral health space immediately adjacent to the Emergency Department, Extended Observation Beds unit, a Mobile Crisis Team, and currently expanding with a Crisis Stabilization Hub.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Must Possess an MD or equivalent and be board certified (or board eligible)
Must obtain NYS licensure prior to start
Must have an unrestrcited DEA
Must be commiteed to working to be "Ever Better" while employing out ICARE values of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, excellence
