Embark on a rewarding assignment supporting elementary students’ communication and language development in a vibrant educational setting. We’re seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to work with students primarily in grades 2 and 3 (ages 7-8) for a contract position beginning August 25 and ending June 3, 2027. With a manageable caseload of 28-30 students, you’ll be part of a passionate team dedicated to student growth.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Hold current SLPA credentials and have school-based experience, especially with primary grades
  • Dynamic, engaging personality with a collaborative approach and a commitment to reliability
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, fostering productive partnerships with staff, students, and families
  • Proficient in implementing speech-language therapy plans in person; teletherapy is not preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapy services to assigned caseload under supervision of a licensed SLP, utilizing evidence-based practices
  • Document and report progress, maintaining clear communication with supervising SLPs and educational staff
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to support students’ individualized communication goals
  • Contribute to IEP meetings by supplying observational data and progress updates as required

Position Details:

  • Contract runs from late August 2024 through early June 2027
  • Full-time, up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Work hours: 7:15 AM – 3:15 PM at Altoona Elementary School
  • Start with staff: August 25; student services begin September 1

This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact while working in a friendly, collaborative school community that values positive team dynamics.

If you are a dedicated SLPA ready to inspire young learners, we encourage you to apply today! Interview slots are available next week or during the week of July 20—don’t miss your chance to join a supportive environment where your expertise is valued.
