Job description

JOB TITLE: Speech-Language Pathologist

JOB CLASSIFICATION: Full time or Part time

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

JOB PURPOSE: Evaluate consumers and provide speech and language therapies for consumers. Supervise therapy assistants, students, and volunteers as needed. Write evaluation reports and individualized treatment plans for people served and measure progress on goals. Design, implement, and train program staff to implement tasks for treatment, design treatment activities as a team, lead groups and activities, and measure progress/evaluate the program's effectiveness, consumer satisfaction, and quality features. Oversee completion of required documentation. Work with physicians on treatment plans and patient needs. Lead projects and handle staff assignments for services provided by the team, such as adaptive equipment services.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct speech-language-cognitive evaluations.
  2. Write evaluation reports, treatment plans, and other required documentation for occupational therapy services.
  3. Design treatment tasks, implement with consumers, and train other staff to assist.
  4. Oversee completion of required documentation for O.T. services by students.
  5. Lead groups as needed.
  6. Assist with program development.
  7. Participate in team/family conferences.
  8. Provide community outings when appropriate (e.g., grocery shopping, recreational activities, fitness center, work trials).
  9. Participate in discharge planning.
  10. Provide consumer/family education when needed.
  11. Recommend assistive technology or adaptive equipment as needed.
  12. Participate in fundraising activities.
  13. Complete continuing education credits as required to maintain licensure.
  14. Maintain clean and orderly environment.
  15. Familiarize self with and follow facility and department Policies and Procedures.
  16. Follow all personnel policies.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited school of speech-language therapy/pathology. Missouri license for speech-language pathology. MANDT crisis intervention certification, CPR certification, and first aid training required. (these trainings will be provided upon hire along with required agency trainings).
