Job description

Fleet Supervisor
In this dynamic role, the Fleet Supervisor oversees mechanics and shop assistants whose primary mission is to support the work of the Operations team by ensuring that company equipment is maintained properly, and equipment repairs are made timely to not hinder the completion of services provided to our customers. Working as a department leader, this supervisor sets the priorities for the team and identifies the solutions needed to solve a wide range of equipment issues.

Requirements
  • Lead and manage the performance and productivity of 5-10 direct reports, including mechanics and shop assistants.
  • Schedule and assign needed equipment repairs, ensuring they are completed and documented in the company's fleet management software.
  • Partner with local and national vendors to source needed parts at the most competitive pricing
  • Oversee quarterly and off-season preventative maintenance schedules
  • Review vendor invoices to authorize payment
  • Actively engage with Operations Team Members through safety training and other educational sessions designed to support proper usage of equipment to reduce injury or damage.
  • Maintain compliance to relevant DOT regulations and the company Safety Program
  • Alter work schedule as needed during winter months to facilitate snow equipment repairs and 24/7 business operations.
  • 2 years of leadership experience in a private fleet or retail repair shop environment
  • 2 years of experience working as a mechanic or technician
  • Experience in the landscape / snow management industries is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of relevant DOT & OSHA regulations
  • Proven ability to build rapport and collaborate well with others; both within the company and externally
  • Track record of problem solving
  • Keen attention to detail and self-accountability
  • PC software proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, & Outlook
