Job description

Job Title: COOK HELPER
Reports To: Kitchen Supervisor

Salary Range:  $16.93-$26.48
Union: MSEA


SUMMARY:
Perform routine food service activities related to food preparation, serving, and cleanup in a school cafeteria.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Prepares and cooks food service items
? Assists in serving meals
? Assists in setting up and stocking food preparation and service lines
? Performs cleanup duties as directed
? Maintains strict standards of sanitation keeping the kitchen safe and in a clean and orderly condition
? Perform other related duties as assigned
 







KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
? Excellent multitasking ability to assist other kitchen staff positions
? Familiarity with common kitchen utensils and commercial equipment
? Knowledge of best practices for kitchen safety and sanitation
? Basic kitchen skills, such as experience chopping, dicing, frying, following a recipe and measuring ingredients accurately
? Ability to lift, carry, push and pull heavy containers of food and materials up to 50 lbs.
? Ability to interact positively within the school district and community
? Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
 







TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
? Student contact days according to the District School Calendar
? 4-hour shift
