Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA has an open position and is looking for qualified candidates for a Inventory Control Specialist. The job location is at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head MD.


Scope of Performance: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring accountability of company and customer property, and supporting day-to-day warehouse and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience with inventory management systems, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software and databases.
  • Perform routine cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and maintain inventory reports, metrics, and documentation.
  • Issue materials, tools, and equipment to employees while maintaining proper accountability.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and project teams to ensure inventory availability.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of inventory items.
  • Monitor stock levels and notify management of replenishment needs.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, packaging, and material movement as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and government property management regulations.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate inventory records and documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience – Required:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two or more years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Experience using inventory management or ERP systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, both military and private industry
