The Global Network Delivery organization is looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Deployment Planner to join our growing Planning team within AWS Data Center Delivery

The team responsibilities involve scoping and planning new network capacity deployments across several data center locations. They will review project forecasts and assure physical infrastructure resources are available for their execution.
The Network Deployment 'Planner' will work closely with infrastructure supply chain & procurement, network engineering and technical program managers to plan and deliver customer capacity to the local data center installation & deployment technicians to facilitate smooth capacity execution.
The ideal candidate will possess a technology background that enables them to understand the complexities of the sophisticated network architecture of Amazon data centers. To be a qualified candidate you must be highly autonomous, detail oriented, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills and have experience in managing network deployment projects

They will be competent in networking principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure and fiber solutions.
This position will provide the individual with high levels of autonomous work with minimal supervision to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and to assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network as we expand. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous, collaborative environment is essential for success.
Key job responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Design Management
a

Contribute in developing comprehensive 6-8 months network implementation roadmaps aligned with AWS DC expansion targets
b. Create and optimize network position layouts and rack placement strategies for data centre floor space utilization
c. Review and contribute to High-Level Design (HLD) documentation
d.

Coordinate with engineering teams to validate technical requirements and design specifications
e. Develop capacity planning models to ensure infrastructure scalability
f. Create standardized planning templates and methodologies for network implementations
2.

Project & Resource Management
a. Lead end-to-end project planning for multiple concurrent network implementation initiatives
b. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and dependencies
c.

Manage project scope, and quality parameters
d. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
e. Improvise and optimize planning by incorporating lessons learnt of latest deployed projects, iteratively.
f

Coordinate across cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project deliverables
g. Track and report weekly project progress and/or otherwise informed to key stakeholders
3. Supply Chain & Inventory Planning
a.

Develop project inventory forecasts and requirements
b. Optimize developed counts by utilizing prior surplus spares.
c. Coordinate with procurement teams for strategic resource acquisition
d

Manage vendor relationships and delivery schedules
e. Establish and stick to procurement timelines aligned with project schedules
4. Program Governance & Process Excellence
a.

Establish and maintain project management frameworks and best practices
b. Develop sustainable and repeatable planning processes
c. Create and maintain project documentation and reporting standards
d.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning methodologies
e. Build and maintain stakeholder communication channels
f. Coordinate with regional teams for standardized planning approaches and optimized lesson learnt based iterative optimized planning.
