Summary
The inventory planner will be responsible to ensure that the pharmacies have adequate inventory on hand to meet the demands of the pharmacy. These responsibilities include the following: demand management, inventory stocking levels and maximizing inventory turns. The planner will schedule Inventory arrival dates based on demand and forecasted volume. In addition, they will work with the supply chain team to achieve corporate cost target for medication purchases.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • With guidance from Director of Pharmacy Operations develop production and inventory management plans to support demand requirements
  • Assist in the development, implementation, analysis and coordination of inventory levels
  • Identify current and potential product shortages, develop and execute plans to mitigate disruptions based on shortages and advise status of these plans
  • Release Inventory orders based on demand
  • Maintain and update master files for utilization and preferred Inventory items
  • Manage inventory levels to meet corporate goals
  • Support monthly inventory cycle counts to validate inventory accuracy, key participant in annual physical inventory
  • Analyze data and collaborate with Director of Pharmacy Operations and Inventory Control Manager to determine and apply appropriate ordering, inventory, and replenishment policies
  • Provide reports and requested information as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
  • BA Degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years professional experience
  • Registered Pharmacy Tech (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge and experience with Inventory Planning
  • Advanced computer skills and Excel experience
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Work Environment / Physical Demands
This position is in a typical office environment which requires prolonged sitting in front of a computer. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment including operation of standard computer and phone equipment. May have occasional high stress when dealing with customers/clients. Some travel may be required.
