Job Description Litigation Assistant - Insurance Defence Downtown Toronto Permanent Hybrid work - alternating 3 days remote/2 days in office followed by 3 days in office and 2 days remote Our client, a highly regarded law firm located in the core of downtown Toronto, is in need of an Intermediate Litigation Assistant to join its team. In this role you will be working predominantly in the area of insurance defence litigation. The successful candidate will possess 4+ years of litigation experience with some exposure to an insurance defence litigation practice.Strong communication skills both written and verbal along with knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure are required

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in managing an insurance litigation practice. Liaise with clients and opposing counsel in a professional manner and with diplomacy; Assembly of pleadings, affidavits, motion records, motion confirmation forms, facta and books of authorities, etc. Coordinating with court offices regarding trial and motions bookings and related court document filings; Drafting cover/service letters and coordinating delivery of documents Some knowledge of Accident Benefits and LAT mediation/arbitration procedures; Transcription of dictations including statements of claim, statement of defence, reporting letters, research memos, etc.

Provide basic administrative tasks (including typing, editing, formatting, proofreading, filing, printing, saving of documents, photocopying, faxing, handling incoming and outgoing mail, maintenance of contacts and calendar, entering dockets, coordination of meetings, etc.) If you are looking for a genuinely nice place to work, look no further.
