Overview

The Data Analytics Architect is a highly technical member of the Strategic Intelligence team who specializes in the creative use of databases, statistical models, and traditional/non-traditional data sources to create analytically rigorous, actionable insights, and recommendations that drive strategic decision-making. Responsible for the processes, tools, and data models required to produce enterprise-wide strategic intelligence and dashboards. This individual partners with operational leaders to produce, manage, integrate, and communicate strategic intelligence that improves decision-making across the organization. Responsible for analyzing trends and insights in the data and enabling stakeholders to make data-driven decisions and act. They will mentor other analysts and cross-train within the department. This position has ownership of projects and processes.

This role will require extensive use of data analytics tools such as Power BI and Tableau. It requires the incumbent have exemplary data engineering skills as well as communication and collaboration experience.

This role requires the incumbent live within the KC metro.

Responsibilities

Partners with senior leaders and Strategic Planning Department Leadership as a trusted technical advisor and subject matter expert to extract data, analyze, interpret, present, and assist with data-driven decision-making:

  • Responsible for conducting specialized analyses to assist leadership with other functions and make recommendations for change to achieve the objectives of the organization.
  • Manages the development of complex, strategic data analysis through integration of data from a variety of internal and external information sources. Provides recommendations to support increased market share.
  • Supports strategic intelligence analysis to use on complex, high profile projects such as U.S. News and World Report Best Children’s Hospital rankings.
  • Identifies best method to obtain data, analyze data, and communicate insights for effectively meeting client needs.
  • Fulfills requests required to support of the Strategic Initiative Process, Strategic Planning process, and other key organization priorities.

Manage the technical design, development, and implementation of new data analytics tools:

  • Responsible for building and maintaining SP department infrastructure for internal and external data.
  • Identifies user needs and key questions, assesses options, and recommends visual and functional design that will effectively meet those needs.
  • Responsible for validating data integrity and resolving issues related to data governance and user functionality.

Manage and improve strategic intelligence software modules and tools:

  • Learns about best practice and emerging industry analytic techniques and trends and how to apply them.
  • Investigates new tools and applications and how to apply them to the different analytic approaches and stakeholder deliverables.
  • Surfaces key learnings to the Director, Strategic Intelligence.
  • Coaches Strategic Intelligence Analyst I and II on new tools, techniques, and technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 7 or more years' experience compiling and analyzing data to support strategic, market, and business plans.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $39.59/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based upon your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is entirely remote or work-from-home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area and may attend on-site meetings, as scheduled.
